In the fertile land of Kissamos, where the tradition of viticulture is passed from generation to generation, the Loupaki Estate was born and developed. Our family, with deep roots in the Cretan land, has been involved in the cultivation of vines and the production of quality wine for over half a century.
Our story begins in the 1970s, when our father, Emmanuel Char. Loupakis, an established table grape merchant, dared to innovate. He created a model linear vineyard – a pioneering approach for the time – which received significant recognition with awards from the Ministry of Agriculture (1985) and the DETROP International Exhibition (1993).
Today, three generations of winegrowers and winemakers continue with the same passion and dedication this family path. We invest in new varieties, exploit the potential of our modern winery and cultivate the land with respect to traditional practices.
Our unit has fully equipped production, standardization and marketing facilities, and our wines have been honored with important distinctions at the Thessaloniki International Wine Competition in 2018, 2022 and 2023.
With respect to the land and its people, we continue to create wines with character, quality and authenticity. We invite you to get to know Loupakis Estate through our products and become part of our history.

The Loupaki Estate, apart from the vineyards, also includes areas that host the winery, the distillery, the wine aging basement (= cellar) and of course reception areas.
A visit to our winery does not start and certainly does not end with the tasting of a wine. The starting point of the wine journey begins with the cultivation and the vineyards, which adorn the natural landscape and in which all the seasons of the year are reflected, continues with the production of the wine and reaches the final release.
Among the Estate’s labels, the indigenous Cretan varieties stand out, such as “Hadi White” which is a cool and fresh wine from the indigenous Cretan variety “Vilana”, ideal to be consumed at lower temperatures during the hot Cretan summer days.
“Hadi Red” a fresh version of the native Cretan variety ‘Kotsifali’ for lighter combinations, such as pasta with red sauces, while the “Red Corfi” of the “Cabernet Sauvignon” variety that has matured for 12 months in oak barrels to be ideally combined with local meats.

We warmly invite you to step away from the ordinary and discover a place where wine is not simply made — it is lived. Nestled at the top of the hill “Gra-Lygia” in the semi-mountainous heart of the Platanias area in Chania, Loupakis Winery offers far more than a tasting. It offers a moment of genuine connection — with the land, with the people, and with a winemaking tradition that runs deep in the soul of western Crete.
Arrive and let the landscape take your breath away. Perched above the valley, sheltered by the mighty Lefka Ori — the White Mountains — and gazing out toward the shimmering waters of the Gulf of Kolimbari, the estate sits at the crossroads of wild nature and timeless beauty. From this vantage point, the panorama unfolds like a painting: the silver-green canopy of endless olive groves stretching across the Kissamite land, the terracotta rooftops of picturesque Cretan villages scattered across the hillsides, and the deep blue horizon where the sea meets the sky. Come evening, as the summer sun descends, it casts warm golden and amber hues across the rugged terrain — a natural spectacle that no canvas could fully capture, and one that reminds you why this corner of Crete has inspired poets, travelers, and winemakers for centuries.
A visit to Loupakis Winery is a journey into the heart of Cretan viticulture. Our guests are welcomed not as visitors, but as friends. You will have the opportunity to walk among the vines, feel the soil beneath your feet, and understand how the unique microclimate of Gra-Lygia hill shapes every grape that is harvested here. You will discover our commitment to indigenous Cretan grape varieties such as Kotsifali and Vilana, and learn why we believe that the best wine is always an honest expression of the land it comes from. From the first vines planted on this hillside to the wines in your glass today, ours is the story of a family that has poured its passion, knowledge, and love into every vintage.
At Loupakis, we believe that great wine begins long before it reaches the cellar. It begins with respect — for the land, for the vine, and for the seasons. Every decision in our vineyard and winery is guided by a simple philosophy: care, patience, and love for the place that nourishes us. We do not chase trends. We do not rush nature. We listen to the soil, tend our vines with dedication, and trust that honest work produces honest wine. The result is a range of wines that carry the character of this wild, sun-drenched landscape in every sip — wines that taste of the White Mountains, the sea breeze, and the ancient Cretan earth.
Cretan hospitality is not a gesture — it is a way of life. At Loupakis Winery, we welcome you with open arms and an open bottle. Whether you come alone, with a loved one, or with a group of friends, you will leave not just with wine in hand, but with a memory that stays with you long after you have returned home. We are waiting for you — come share with us the peace, the warmth, and the unmistakable taste of a wine made with everything we have, for a land we are proud to call home.
